EERSTE FABRIEKE

1.         Indicate the background of the project

A structure plan, for the municipality Tshwane was made by the university of Pretoria with support of the Technical University and the municipality Delft for building, 1700 houses with a subsidy of the South African government.

The name of this project is Eerste Fabrieke; named after the area. where the project will be realised. The set-up of the project has been exhaustively described and clear agreements have been made between the Delft and South-African partners.

Cooperation with experts from Delft gave the municipal authorities of Tshwane much insight view on the field of spatial scheduling and town planning.

The main result is a concept planning for the development of the Eerste Fabrieke area. This concept exists of a project plan and a step-by-step plan. Discussions in the formulation-phase formed the basis for a definite planning for the coming years.
